Wireless Anti-theft Protection

Pandora, a pioneer in the application of new, modern and innovative technologies to its products, is changing the philosophy of anti-theft protection that currently prevails in the global vehicle alarms market. Current market’s approach still prefers wired communication and the central management of all this from the central unit. The main disadvantage of this philosophy is that: a) with wired communication (cable) it is easy to find the central unit and disable the anti-theft protection and b) it significantly increases the time of a proper installation.

Now Pandora “cuts the cords” by applying wireless technology, through the Bluetooth LE v4.2 communication protocol, to the new versions of its anti-theft devices. This communication protocol that Pandora chose to use is ideal for short-distance wireless communication (range up to 10m) because a 128bit AES encryption method is applied for the transmission of communication data, it has minimal consumption in full operation (peak current consumption <15mA) and is undetectable by another device when it has paired with the authorized devices.

The use of this method significantly increases the anti-theft protection of the new generation Pandora security system because it gives the freedom to place the individual peripheral units, in any part of the vehicle we want and as hidden as possible.

Thus Pandora decentralizes the anti-theft functions of the central unit to individual units where they either send the information from the built-in sensors they have (such as engine temperature, humidity, etc.) to the central unit for further processing, or activate the blocking they are programmed for when communication with the central unit is lost or they detect some movement from the built-in acceleration sensor they have.

Designing these peripherals with their minimal dimensions and robust construction, Pandora has achieved maximum energy efficiency and their full integration and harmonization with the vehicle’s wiring, making them invisible and practically impossible to detect by the would-be thief, even and if he has enough time to deal with your vehicle.

Total anti-theft protection, even if thieves find and remove the alarm unit, the engine will shut off as soon as the vehicle is moved.
